Dental Assistant Program

The Dental Assist Program at CVIT prepares students to perform technical services involved with planning, organizing, researching, directing, and controlling functions and processes related to the provision of dental assisting health-care services—both front office and clinical responsibilities.

Employment of dental assistants is projected to grow 18 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all other occupations. Ongoing research linking oral health and general health will likely continue to increase the demand for preventive dental services.

Our Program

Students completing this program will be prepared to participate in teams, solve problems, think critically, and implement effective solutions. We’ve designed our program to deliver a coherent sequence of experiences using technical instruction, experiential learning, supervised clinical experience and leadership, and personal development through the career and technical student organization HOSA.
