I feel very fortunate that the CVIT Administration and School Board saw a need for a school counselor dedicated to serving our students. Even more so, I am thrilled that they chose me to be that person! However, there are many students in Arizona that do not have access to certified school counselor, so whenever I have the chance, I use my voice to advocate for those students, and remind others about the different ways in which school counselors help students succeed.
I was honored to recently be asked by the Arizona School Counselors Association, to represent school counselors across the state on Channel 12 News. This report centered specifically on college access and financial aid, and how having more school counselors could better support those efforts.
