Cosmetology Program

Barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists provide grooming and beauty services to enhance their clients’ appearance. Those who operate their own salons have managerial duties that may include hiring, supervising, and terminating workers as well as keeping business and inventory records, ordering supplies, and arranging for advertising.

Our Program

Our Cosmetology Program provides students an opportunity to apply cosmetology practices and principles in a simulated salon environment. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology Examination.

Students in this program meet four hours a day, Monday through Thursday and eight hours on Friday. Chapter work on Cosmetology theories, basic anatomy, safety, and other topics is due regularly, and class time is not generally available for this work, so it must be completed at home. Student knowledge will be assessed with written and computer-based tests, in addition to floor skills in salon work.
